Japanese Calligraphy & More
Yoshimi Kerr was born and raised in Japan and has resided in the United States since the early 90’s. She brings to Braided Way Peace Collective a creative basket of offerings grounded in life-long authentic study, sincere apprenticeship, and dedicated personal practice.
With 30+ years state-side, Yoshimi is well versed in western culture and has found herself mixing what she feels is the best of Japanese and American cultures into her life. By sharing the traditions of her homeland with new friends in the states she hopes to spread peace through enhanced cultural views and understanding of our differences and similarities.
Yoshimi offers a broad range of embodied healing modalities inside Braided Way, including Calligraphy, Thetahealing, color & writing therapy, and Japanese cultural classes. She is a practitioner of aikido and Qi gong and follows the deep spiritual stream inherent to both of these embodied arts.

Calligraphy Fundamentals:
Guided by the gentle practice of brush, ink, and breath, you will learn the fundamentals of traditional calligraphy while cultivating calm presence in every stroke.
Offered as an individual and group class series. Registration required.
Calligraphy Breath, Brush, and Waza of Aikido:
Quarterly class offered in tandem with Two Rivers Aikido Sensei where we dive deep into the heart of kanji through exploration of breath, brush strokes of kanji, and how they live inside and inform the essential heart of Aikido.
Offered in group format quarterly. Registration required.
Calligraphy has been an integral part of Yoshimi’s life, having mastered the technique of the 5 dan in her teens.
Japanese Culture Classes:
Curious about Japanese culture in general or want to learn how to serve a traditional Japanese meal?
Yoshimi offers custom culture classes by request.
